In general, the cost of translation projects depends on five factors:
- The source and target languages
- The volume of words contained in the original texts
- The file formats of the original and the translated documents
- The translation project deadline
- The complexity of the subject matter to be translated
The file format of the original documents and the translated documents.
Without doubt, the easiest file formats to handle are those associated
with the most commonly used word processing programmes (doc, rtf, txt , etc.).
Additionally, at Dixon we also work with html formats at no extra cost. Documents received for translation in other file formats (PDF, paper, Freehand, Quark, Excel, PowerPoint, .php, etc.) may be subject to a surcharge due to the additional work involved in their treatment.
Likewise, the creation of a final, translated document in a complex file format requires time and additional resources, and carries a surcharge. |
