Italy, where it holds the status of an official language, it is also spoken in the southern region of Switzerland. Additionally, there are extensive Italian - speaking communities in other European countries (France, England, Malta and Belgium), South America (Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Uruguay and Chile), Australia, Africa, United States and Canada.
