Is it necessary to contract sound and technical equipment for every interpreting service?
Sound equipment, which allows listeners to hear a translation of a foreign-language speaker's discourse, is usually only employed for simultaneous interpreting projects.
Should the client have access to such equipment, we highly recommend that its functioning is checked prior to the interpreting service in order to avoid any "last minute surprises". In addition to the pertinent sound equipment, simultaneous interpreting services require the presence of a sound technician, who is responsible for installing and overseeing the equipment during the service.
