Dixon Servicios Lingüísticos, SL, offers Translation and Interpreting students the opportunity to gain real
work experience within our company.
By immersing themselves in a real working environment, students will have the chance to discover how a translation company works on a day-to-day basis. Whilst working on real translation projects, they will not only learn how to use the software that is indispensable for professional translators, but also how to make the best use of the immense source of information contained in the Internet.
For non-Spanish speaking students, such an experience will provide the opportunity to improve their command of the Spanish language through the
translation of new vocabulary into their mother tongue, as well as by talking with the company's team, translators, clients and collaborators. The fact that many of our team members come from countries other than
Spain contributes towards the creation of a mixture of languages and cultures our offices.
Nolwenn Jézéquel, 21, a French student from West Brittany University (Brest), took part in a
work experience programme with
Dixon Servicios Lingüísticos, S.L., during the summer of 2004.
"As part of my studies, I had to complete a 6-week period of
work experience, which I wanted to do in a foreign country as, in my opinion, this is the best way to put knowledge of foreign languages into practice.
Now I have a clearer idea of how a translation company works. The atmosphere within the company was relaxed, everybody was very friendly and there was always someone on hand to help me with any doubts that I had. I have enjoyed this period of
work experience very much indeed and would have no doubt about repeating it."
